Illegal!

I had no idea that we would be having these problems at such a young age. I was hoping that we could bypass the drama until at least jr. high. Who knew that 7 was the new 13!?! I'm still in shock, but thoroughly amused.

Eric seemed a little off when I picked him up from school today. He had a field trip to the movies, he got to see Night at the Museum: Smithsonian. I figured he was tired, had to much candy and running around. I asked him about the movie, he was unusually quiet. This set off warning signs in my brain! When we got home I tried talking to him again, hoping to figure out what was going on. He burst into tears and blurted out unrecognizable words. WOW!! What did I just get myself into!

After some settling down and clarification I got the story: Eric was having a bad day because the girls (4 girls from his class) kept yelling and running away from him. They wouldn't play with him or sit next to him at the movies, he didn't understand why. He got some insider info from another girl who divulged that Gretta (not her real name) said Eric cheated on her! Eric insisted he did not cheat! He didn't know what cheating was, but he didn't do it and he was sure Gretta cheated on him. Futhermore, he was to young to be someones boyfriend and it was illegal!

It was all I could do not to laugh! I felt so bad for him. I know this is serious business and I wanted him to know I would be there to help. Girls can be difficult and little boys just don't understand.
