Since curious Lindsay was headed over I knew I had to get rid of the caterpillar quick! I grabbed a small shovel and pryed it off the vine. Its little feet were sucked onto the vine. It took more work than I expected to get it off and I promptly flung it over the fence. Bye, bye, you are not welcome here!
I started thinking that there were lots of little poops all over the ground... could there be more?! And sure enough, I did find another big guy hanging onto my tomato plant! He was harder to get off than the first! After I got a couple of his legs pulled off the vine he started swinging his body around! I wasn't sure if he was trying to get me with his stinger, or get his legs back on. It was intense! Where was my husband when I needed him?!I am happy to report that after a short struggle he made it over the fence too! Our yard is caterpillar free... at least to my knowledge.

We used to love those giant green hairy caterpillars that would be all over our parents' tomato plants! Don't worry, you will find more!
So I am not sure but I think that they can SPIT! and the Horn is on it's rear end ;-) I don't really like big caterpillars like that AT ALL!!
