Lindsay and I were organizing today. I got everything organized and she had a very special way of reorganizing it for me. Needless to say, I've got more organinzing to do! I'm just glad that Justin isn't around to appreciate the mess I make trying to get organized :) He will be thrilled to come home and not know that anything was accomplished. At least I feel better and can find whatever I'm looking for.
We, or me, have been working on a new plan of getting Lindsay to sleep. She used to lay on the couch and fall asleep within 30 minutes. That way I was able to watch TV and hopefully stay awake so I could get myself to bed after Lindsay fell asleep. Now that doesn't work! I'm asleep in 3 minutes and Lindsay starts playing. At least one of us gets sleep. I've been trying to work on a SuperNanny technique of having Lindsay in her bed and I sit on the floor until she falls asleep, no looking at her though. This makes it extremely difficult on me because she has learned to sit/ lay really quietly and when I think she is asleep, I try to leave... not a happy result for either party. Back to square one.
This evening I let her lay in bed with me watching a show. We had a nice warm bath and juice, she was all set. Or so I thought. After an hour she was all over the place! I tell her she will go to her bed but that only works for a minute. After the show was over I put her in her bed and sat on the floor. I added in my own technique of scootching slowly out of the room, so that I could get in a snack before I went to bed. It worked like a charm!
After I made some really yummy pork tacos and devoured them I thought I should check on my sleeping child. It had been an hour since I put her down and it was really quiet in her room, except for the primary songs playing quietly. I got so freaked out when I peeked around the corner and my little "sleeping angel" was dancing around to the music! I must have scared her to because she ran back to hop in bed.
I decided the best thing to do was ignore the situation and hope she got herself to sleep at some point in the night. She did come out of her room crying (like I was going to buy that) and she was sent back to bed. I'm a little afraid to check on her again, hopefully she is asleep, the music is off and I don't want a bed buddy! I'm sure she will sneak in later, but it doesn't count when I'm asleep...
Good night.

YOu are so funny. I have seen that technique on Super Nanny before. I think the key is that you can't give up or give in. Teach them that nothing they do will change what you will do. Keep it up! and good luck!
