Driving to UT

After a late night of packing and chatting with Aunt Terry, we are on the road to Utah! It didn't take long to pack up the bed of the truck and I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was way less stuff than we thought! I was a little afraid that I wouldn't be able to see out the back window... that ended up being the least of my worries.

Not long after getting on the 15 did we hear a really weird noise that didn't sound good at all! I've heard a tire falling apart before and I thought, oh no! As we were starting to pull off to the side of the road the noise quit. It was the mud flap. It didn't want to travel any longer and flew off. It wasn't until we got to Las Vegas that I saw the damage it left behind. Toyota will be hearing from me!

Poor Lindsay is being such a good sport about being dragged all over the Western US in her car seat. I don't blame her for not liking it that much and she made sure that we knew it! Jenny brought up the car seat rule and how much it has changed in the last 20 years. She used to be able to drive and nurse, wouldn't that be safe while shifting! Lindsay was happy to be taken out of her seat so she could enjoy her freedom, even in the heat of Vegas.

Las Vegas isn't my favorite place in the world to visit, the TV show is pretty good though. I do like that they have an In-N-Out store. Justin has wanted a shirt for a while and I wanted to get him a cool one, not the regular one they sell at every In-N-Out. So we made a quick pit stop for shirts, no food. Justin is getting two polos with an embroidered logo, I got a long sleeve shirt.

After twelve hours and countless stops we finally pulled up to BYU. I'm not sure if Emma will ever be able to fully stretch back to her normal height, it was a tight squeeze in the back! Lindsay was thrilled to be out and in the cool air. Blake, Brit and Will met us to help unload the truck. We did a quick unpack, met a couple of roommates and were off to bed... what a long day!
