Eric is learning to read. He wasn't very fond of reading at first. Now that he is getting better, he likes it alot more! This makes doing homework much nicer and fun! He is supposed to read for 20 minutes everyday. Today he didn't want to read the book from the teacher, instead he choose Go, Dog, Go! He has never read this book all the way through, so it was a little difficult. Grandma even read some of the hard parts of the book for him. They had so much fun together!
It was pretty hot today, in the 90's. Eric had a hooded sweatshirt on most of the day. Grandma and Justin both tried to get him to take it off and he refused. He kept telling everyone that he wasn't hot. It didn't take long to figure out that he wasn't happy with the length of his hair and he was trying to keep it under the hood! What a funny kid, I don't think roasting makes your hair grow any faster.
Since Eric is learning to read I like to have flashcards with the words that he is learning. I thought of a brilliant idea today! Make cards with the word of a color in that color. To help him remember I even drew a picture of something that was the same color. Grapes for purple, bear for brown, grass for green, skulls for black, etc. The project went so well, Eric joined in! He started by writing out the words of the colors. Then he started stamping things on his paper. It was really fun! And it made Eric forget about his hair :)
