It all started with an email Holley sent and it went down hill from there. Who knew babies could read? Mine must... she always seems to know what I've been reading about. Lindsay was paying attention in the womb when I read about breastfeeding, she came out a pro! Holley's email was about Dr. Jay Gordon and his opinion on vaccines. I immedately went to his website and started investigating. I've been nervous about giving Lindsay all of her shots and would like to wait until she is older. He had some good articles that I enjoyed.
I, of course, got side-tracked and saw some other items on his page about babies size. Dr. Gordon says not to worry about your babies size as long as they are proportional. Sounds good to me! My girl seems to be growing by leaps and bounds so the reassurance was appreciated.
The article that really got me was about breastfeeding. He says to feed the baby when ever they are hungry. If they want to eat every hour, feed them. If they sleep for eight hours, feed them when they wake up... as long as they aren't sleeping like that all the time and losing weight. It went into growth spurts and what to expect.
This is the part that changed my day. I swear Lindsay some how knew! The good doctor went into detail about how babies tend to sleep more the day or two prior to their feeding frenzy and how they eat more to build up the supply. I don't know how much bigger my supply needs to be. Right now I feel like I could feed an army!
Lindsay, on que with the article, was sleeping quite a bit more that last couple of days. Today was the beginning of the feeding frenzy! I hope it slows down tomorrow, it was a totally crazy day. That girl couldn't be left alone for more than 30 minutes before she needed to be held and in turn wanted to feed and feed and feed!
I don't think my boobs will ever be the same size again. Meaning that they will never be the same size they started off and they will never be equal. I'm still trying to see the upside to this. I'm worn out, I'm getting sagging boobs and I have a leech!
