Being Efficient

Part of being a stay at home mom is living on a budget. I've never been good at budgeting and I doubt I will become pro anytime soon. With gas being so expensive, ok completely outrageous (and getting worse by the day) I have been driving the least amount possible. I just about fell over the other day when it cost $70 to fill up my truck! Hello, it was less than $40 a tank when I got the truck two years ago. Oh, the good ol' days!
Walking is the new cool thing around here. Thank goodness for the fancy stroller, the Sungli was going to make baby and I sweat to death. We walk Eric to school in the mornings and it is good to get outside and for my waistline. So I figured why not walk to other places close by?

It was a nice cool 85 degrees at 7pm and off we went to the video store, it was rather nice. I decided to swing by Target for a quick peek around. I should have continued on home... I was there for over an hour! I did find some good stuff on sale though :)

I read in my Everyday Cheapskate newsletter that its the short distance driving that uses the most gas. I hope my new method helps a little. If nothing else I will stay more in shape. Hubby informed me that gas was up to $127.78 a barrel, a new all time high. Since that is the numbers of my birth date let's hope it's a good omen and that gas prices will fall soon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! And my legs moving.
