6 month check-up

Lindsay went to the doctor today for her 6 month check-up. She has not been feeling tip top, so I was glad that we already had an appointment. Of course we were tardy, I don't know how that always happens. I did have to put a car seat in the truck, but I had plenty of time when I was finished. I blame the kid... she was taking a nap and I was hoping she would wake up. I totally believe the saying about never waking up a sleeping baby.

Lindsay is 18 lbs 12 ozs, 27 inches long. She has given up her hefty title and moved into the pudge category. She does really well with the nurse; getting weigh, measured and having her temperature taken, but she is not a fan of the doctor. He is very nice and I think he is better with her than the nurse. I think babies are ingrained to dislike doctors, like dogs are ingrained to dislike postmen.

The doctor gave Lindsay a tongue depressor to play with while he checked out her ears and nose. The distraction didn't work as planned. She kicked and screamed, you would have thought she was getting her shots! When the doctor tried to take the tongue depressor away, since it was being used as a weapon, she wouldn't release it. I was asked to help by holding down her arms and legs. I don't like being used as a shield... Justin is totally coming to the next appointment!

The verdict, Lindsay is very strong. He is happy with her rate of development. She is using her voice well, is very vocal and seems happy. Continue feeding her solid foods, veggies first not fruits. Start giving her fluoride, since its not in our water. I need to watch her cough and make sure her fever doesn't return. If all stays well we don't have to see him for three more months. What a relief, I feel like I passed a test!

Holley was not happy that I didn't put up an official 6 month photo. I haven't gotten them taken yet, so here is one Justin took today. Lindsay loves to stand, she needs help though. Justin got her up to the couch and she did the rest! We are going to be in trouble soon when she can do this on her own.
