Weight lifting

Lindsay and I bought a Jenny Jump Up the other day. I thought that Lindsay would love it since she loves standing and thinks she is bigger than she really is. The first time I put her in it she checked it out and started crying. I even tried to put some of her toys on it so she wouldn't be bored, no such luck. I'm beginning to think that she likes to crawl around on the floor and not be confined to the jump up in the doorway.

When Eric came home today he wanted me to put Lindsay in the jump up. I told him she doesn't like it and she would probably cry. He still wanted to see how it all worked. After I put her in the jump up she got whiny. Eric started to play peek-a-boo with her and she was thrilled! They kept each other entertained for a good twenty minutes!

Eric likes to know how things work and had to check out the spring in the jump up. He pulled down on it and then even lifted it up with Lindsay in it! He thought it was a fun toy. Lindsay wasn't as happy about him lifting her up, but she did enjoy the attention none the less.

After the newness and fun of the jump up wore off, Eric wanted to go to Target. I asked why he wanted to go. He said he wanted to go look at some stuff, not to buy anything. Since we didn't have anything else to do, I figured the exercise would do us all some good. Eric wanted to ride his bike. I then put all the pieces together! Eric just got a bike lock, he had never used it. He can't ride his bike to school, so he doesn't have any where else to use the lock. This was his way to use the lock... pretty clever kid!

I was shocked we didn't melt on the short walk to Target, it was so hot! Eric stopped right inside the door, where the air blows, and enjoyed the cool breeze. We looked at some Halloween shirts, Eric's favorite clothing, and moved onto the toy aisles. Even though there is still four months before his birthday, Eric had to tell me all the toys he wanted. He does know that we won't buy him everything he wants, so he kept telling me his updated list. The last one was a skateboard ramp and deck techs with wheels, a spiderman toy that shoots a web and a nerf gun. Some items that didn't make the final cut: a fighter plane, a flying helicopter, a pirate boat (my favorite), Indiana Jones toys, and a light sabre (which we tried out in the store).

Eric was very happy that no one stole his locked up bike while we were in the store. I know he feels better about using the lock in the future. He is already trying to plan another trip to Target! I will have to take notes next time so I get the right toys... he will remember if I buy one he nixed. The pressure is on!

I sent some pictures to Justin so he doesn't forget what I look like. He told me my face is too thin, I think my hair was puffy.
